Let’s face it, some relationships just seem as though they were meant to be. When you are around such a couple they appear so loving toward each other and they seem to really enjoy one another. New couples often begin their relationship like that but for many those early feelings soon become harder to find, or at least they are not openly displayed. Once you have a great friendship you will find that the other elements will come much easier. Respecting each other is essential to the success of a relationship. This gets into the idea of the two of you learning about each other in order that respecting each other’s feelings is easier. Friends talk and they talk about all kinds of things.
You should discuss dreams, plans and goals. By sharing that information your partner will get a glimpse into the real you that lives within. This is important. If the two of you are to spend years together you will need to be aware of any goals your partner wants to strive for. It may be that a compromise will be necessary in order to keep both of you happy. Compromises work hand in hand with the respect you have for your partner.
A love that is strong is an unconditional love. It is not one that dies because your partner grows ill or old. It stays strong and weathers the storms. You and your best friend can make it through anything if you pull your strength from each other.
So all you really need is a great friendship mixed with respect and that unconditional love. You will then have a strong and healthy relationship. Do not get me wrong, every relationship has its ups and downs but a strong can grow even stronger during hard times, while a weaker relationship is likely to fall apart.
